Introduction
alifepoeminprogress is a collection of experiences captured in poetic form testifying the flow of love, self-discovery, and healing. I’ve opened myself so that you may take this journey with me, discovering at every turn that love reigns supreme. Every experience, every moment, is a birth of overwhelming joy…the beginning of an eternal wave of peace.
I’ve always “felt” poetry. These feelings and thoughts, transposed onto paper, are the blueprint for alifepoeminprogress. This is my journey and I’ve discovered that writing is my life’s work. I’ve become alifepoem and, as such, was moved to assume a name to aptly reflect my consciousness. Hence, the birth of Tantra, a Sanskrit word meaning expansion of consciousness. Although Tantra has varied meanings, it teaches us to perceive with clarity from the heart and to be fully present to life and one another at every moment of our existence…I quote from my poem Plantation Blues…”I’m merely showing up for the first time.” Tantra equates growth with living and welcomes the path to enlightenment.
It is truly an honor to share my writing with you and I thank God for his blessings and unconditional love…all praise to the Most High.
This is the beginning…surviving divorce, single parenting, self-discovery, the pursuit of happiness, domestic/relationship abuse, reaffirming self-esteem, spiritual awareness and self-love.
